Recognition for Those Who Work on Behalf of People with Disabilities

The Rappahannock Regional Disability Services Board (RRDSB) recognizes businesses, individuals and organizations that have made or are making special efforts on behalf of people with disabilities.

Recognition serves multiple purposes: first, to thank those deserving of recognition for their efforts, second to draw attention to efforts being made and thereby encourage others and third to raise awareness of the needs of those with disabilities.

This recognition effort is ongoing; the RRDSB considers recognition for a deserving party at any time.

Help is needed to identify those members of our community and recognize them for their efforts.  The RRDSB’s Recognition Committee solicits nominations from all potential sources.  The Committee reviews all nominations and makes recommendations to the RRDSB for formal recognition.

The RRDSB attempts to recognize deserving parties at public meetings.  Generally, the RRDSB will seek time on the agenda of the governing body (City Council or Board of Supervisors) where the recognized party resides or where the effort being recognized takes place.  The Chairman of the RRDSB and the members who represent that locality participate in the presentation.

If you know of someone who is deserving or a business or organization that deserves consideration please send an email to the RRDSB at jivester@fampo.state.va.us
